Dear Matt and Kristine,
Those eyes get me every time she looks at me, trying to understand what I'm asking or wanting confirmation that she is, indeed, such a good girl!
JuJu hadn't done "paws up" on me at all since she's been here, even when I ask. We pretty much stop at "Good sit!" and leave it at that so that she can feel praised for doing something well. Last night I lifted her paws up and praised her enthusiastically. Tonight I had her sit, and when I said, "Paws up," she paused to think and then did it four or five times in a row! I just had to brag on my baby girl!
We went to visit my parents and their two dogs, Ogilvy and Zoë. Ogilvy is an elderly golden retriever, and Zoë (hereafter also referred to as Monkey or Urban-Dingo interchangeably) is a ten-month-old Blue Heeler. Except she does not heel! She does, however, heal greatly with laughter!
JuJu is a seven-month-old standard poodle service dog with the most expressive eyes, gentle paws, and desire to please! She is a Freedom Fidos task-trained medical service dog, and she is still navigating that balance of teething puppydom and service dog superstar status!
