Dreams do come true!
I put JuJu in her crate last night, and she talked and talked (not whining, just talking) until I let her out. Luke had stayed at my parents' house the other night because he had to be at the vet for an ultrasound at 7:30 in the morning. That night I let her sleep on my bed. Having her presence and heartbeat next to me feels incredible.
I've wanted her to sleep with me since day one, and I've been worried about Luke's reaction, which is why she's been sleeping in her crate.
However, I woke up this morning in the middle of my bed with JuJu and Luke curled up and snuggling on either side of me!!! (Of course, I woke up because I had to pee, which meant I didn't get to savor the moment as much as I wanted to. Hopefully tomorrow?
JuJu is a seven-month-old standard poodle service dog with the most expressive eyes, gentle paws, and desire to please! She is a Freedom Fidos task-trained medical service dog, and she is still navigating that balance of teething puppydom and service dog superstar status!
